Bookable kerbside collections
Haringey Council expanded electrical recycling by installing more on-street bring banks and launching a free bookable kerbside collection service using a dedicated electric van.
Residents could arrange collections online, by email or by phone, which helped people without transport or with mobility issues recycle more easily.
Social media, letter drops and website updates promoted the service.
In two years residents booked more than 2,000 collections. The pilot collected more than 15.5 tonnes through bring banks and a further 6.7 tonnes at the kerbside.
