Looking back at 2025 data, this briefing compares collections of household waste electricals against targets and against 2024 collections.

Key findings:

  • Total collections of household waste electricals performed under target in 2025, from evidenced recycling as well as including non-evidenced lost tonnages
  • Collections of large household appliances, cooling appliances and photovoltaics met 2025 targets, but collections of display equipment, lamps and small mixed electricals did not
  • Evidenced electrical recycling collections increased between 2024 to 2025 by almost 3% [13,248 tonnes]
  • Including non-evidenced tonnages, 2024 to 2025 collections increased by almost 4% [17,911 tonnes]
